Another year has come and gone, bringing with it many joys and many challenges.
At James D. Madden, Attorney at Law, we hope that everyone has a wonderful
holiday and a happier new year! We would like to take a moment to thank
our clients for allowing us to serve them. We know how complicated and
emotional matters of family law can be. We appreciate the trust you put in our
divorce lawyers and work hard to ensure that trust is well placed.
We understand how hectic the holidays can be. From visiting family to having
friends over for various meals, Christmas and New Years are both times
where a lot is going on. It can be difficult to navigate the various emotions
and wishes during this season. Our Rancho Cucamonga attorneys understand
this. That is why we have put together a few tips to help you survive
this holiday season!
Allow for Changes in Your Schedule
It is good to plan your schedules to make sure you know what you’re
doing for the holidays and you make an appearance with everyone you need
to. However, don’t get stuck on the details. Sometimes things come
up. Allow yourself and others to be flexible. If changes need to be made
to meeting times, don’t stress out about them.
Connect with Family and Friends
When you freshly experience a divorce, spending time with your friends
and family may not be something you want to do. Dissolving a marriage
is an emotional period that can cause people to withdraw from others.
However, while you should allow yourself time to grieve and come to terms
with your situation, you should also connect with friends and family who
love you. The holidays are made special by those you are close to.
Continue Old Traditions and Form New Ones
Traditions are a staple of the holidays. Things like opening one present
on Christmas Eve or singing Auld Lang Syne on New Year’s Eve make
festivities what they are. While you may have long-standing traditions,
don’t be afraid to make new ones as well!
One of the things people stress out most about is rushing things last minute.
Whether it is holiday shopping, booking tickets, or prepping for a family
meal, make sure to plan well in advance. Not only will this save you time
and stress, you can also save money by buying early.
Focus on Others
There is something to be said about generosity and kindness. Focusing on
others allows you an avenue to give back. Pour attention on your children,
friends, and family to let them know you care for them. This makes everyone
involved happy. It can also reduce some of your own internal battles.
Count Your Blessings
It can be easy to get swept in the mayhem of the holidays. Some focus on
everything that can go wrong or things that did not work out. However,
take a moment to evaluate everything you are grateful for. This helps
put things into perspective and reduces your anxiety.
At James D. Madden, Attorney at Law, we hope that these tips help you enjoy
your holidays! We would like to thank you for your trust and partnership.
We work hard for our clients and can’t wait to continue this in
the New Year! Happy Holidays from our family to yours!
